Management Accountant – LeapFrog Ability – Newcastle

LeapFrog ability is a not for profit organisation providing flexible support services to families living with a disability or who are disadvantaged.

Reporting to the CFO, this role requires a combination of solid accounting knowledge with excellent people skills as there is a strong interaction with both staff and clients. A challenging but rewarding opportunity, this role will suit someone with demonstrated management accounting experience in an operational, manufacturing, production or project environment.

Main Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain appropriate unit costing and accurate expense allocation across multi programs and departments.

Develop and provide timely and accurate client financial statements as required.

Develop and provide organisational management accounting reports, budgets tracking and forecasts ensuring transparency of general funding and individual packages progress to all relevant stakeholders.

Provide analysis of monthly management accounting and trend reports

Provide analysis of monthly services progression

Develop and maintain a comprehensive monthly rolling revenue forecast, sales pipeline and review management systems.

Manage stakeholders’ activity trends, costing and recommend best practices for implementation.

Review client contracts and proposals, including pricing decisions.

Communicate clearly and simply in explaining finance related reports or enquiries to non financial internal and external stakeholders.

Manage and maintain the management accounting systems and monitor future business trends and processes for improvement where appropriate.

Set up new and revised services within the accounting systems, monitor progress of those services and provide feedback to appropriate stakeholders.

Manage invoices and claims under NDIS services

Develop and maintain a comprehensive and effective internal control framework and support programs and departments in its implementation.

Any other ad hoc duties as deemed appropriate.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.

CPA / CA qualification (or in progress).

Sound knowledge of relevant accounting standards, risk management practices and regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong financial and commercial acumen.

Understanding of contracting environment, well organised, reliable and accountable.

Advanced level of excel skills and PC literacy.

Experience with management accounting systems and practical application.

People person with excellent inter-personal skills, customer focused and a great team player.

Experience in managing and developing relationships with clients and other business stakeholders.

Ability to work well under pressure and with limited supervision and be able to meet both client and organisation deadlines.
