Manager of Golf / Communications – Kew Golf Club – Melbourne

The Kew Golf Club has a long and proud history that dates back to 1894. The Club has recently completed a major Clubhouse and Course renovation which has reinforced our standing as one of the best Clubs in Melbourne.

The role is for a Manager of Golf and Communications who would be responsible for the day to day management of the Club’s golfing program, junior program, corporate golf and member communications.

The Manager of Golf and Communications reports to the Chief Executive Officer and will work closely with other Senior Management staff including the Head Golf Professional and Functions Manager. The Manager of Golf and Communications also liaises with Members of the Board and, more specifically, the Chair of the Match and Course Committees via the Chief Executive Officer.

The successful applicant is likely to be:

Enthusiastic, highly motivated and have previous experience working in a Golf Club or in the golfing industry.
A competent golfer that has a sound understanding of club competitions, pennant and junior golfing programs.
Excellent people management and supervisory skills
High personal standards and leadership qualities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for managing the Club’s golfing, junior and corporate golf programs.
Responsible for managing the Club’s junior, colts, women, senior and open pennant programs.
Administer time sheet and receive bookings for major events, mixed events and board events.
Manage the preparation of the Club’s Golf Syllabus.
Enforce dress rules and regulations and act as a Course Ranger as required
In conjunction with the Functions Manager manage the running of Corporate Golf functions.
Provide timely golf communications to members that include eMail, the Club website, social media, notice boards, podcasts and personal presence.
Manage the content on the Club website and Social Media pages.
