Ampac is the largest independent and privately owned manufacturer of Fire Detection and Alarm System Products based in Australia and we are dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers in the Fire Detection and Alarm System Industry in Australia and selected overseas markets.

Ampac embarked on a committed adoption of Lean Manufacturing strategies several years ago. Initiatives have already developed and generated significant benefits and justified the investment of millions of dollars in new equipment. Production, Supply Chain, Technical & Engineering and Administrative staff have completed formal structured training in Competitive Manufacturing.

Based in Perth, Western Australia, the Group Quality Systems Manager (GQSM) will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of prescribed Quality procedures and Approved Operating Systems & Protocols throughout the Ampac Group of Companies. This Senior Position will ensure compliance with procedures by operatives associated with the Ampac Group of Companies encompassing all facets of the business including World Class Quality Control and the on-going pursuit of Root Cause Analysis Culture. The GQS Manager will also be responsible for the audit and compliance to Quality procedures by Contractors, Suppliers and Vendors in conjunction with the Organisation’s standards

Candidates with the following attributes, abilities and experience are encouraged to apply

Essential:

Proven experience in Quality Assurance Management and/or Continuous Improvement;
Be able to understand complex customer quality issues requiring corrective actions;
Hands on experience with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives;
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably the Electronics industry;
Knowledge of Fire Detection and Emergency Warning Systems:
Lead Auditor and Train the Trainer qualifications;
Able to work under extreme pressure
Effective Management Skills;

Desirable:

Experience in the use of Navision
Prior experience in the direct manufacture of Fire Detection and Emergency Warning Systems is desirable;
Be able to demonstrate Ampac Product knowledge at a high level.
