A suitably qualified and experienced Secondary Teacher of Classroom Music is required to teach students from years 7 and 8. Classroom Music Teachers:
Conduct lessons which are thoroughly prepared and designed to engage and challenge all students in learning
Maintain a positive environment in the classroom which is respectful of all and fosters student learning and wellbeing
Promote the study of music to students
Support the school’s music programme, including attending rehearsals and performances
Contribute to the development of curriculum, teaching and assessment materials
Work collaboratively with colleagues
Support the values of the school
Additional private tuition work may also be available for applicants qualified and experienced in teaching woodwind.
You will be able to demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
VIT registration
Appropriate tertiary qualifications
Professional curriculum knowledge
Professional knowledge and experience in teaching music
Effective delivery of teaching and learning programs and practices
Effective interpersonal skills

Skills in the use of Information and Communication Technologies, especially as they relate to teaching and learning
Organizational and planning skills
A commitment to co-curricular activities
