The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Project Manager to work on one of Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure projects based in Sydney. The role is responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Senior Project Manager with the coordination of railway fixed infrastructure activities on site at both design stage and during procurement to site.

Key responsibilities include:

Being the point of entry for Power Supply (POW), Overhead Catenary System (OCS) and Depot Equipment (DEQ) activities on site first at design stage then during procurement to site
Ensuring coordination of Infrastructure offshore design team with other project entities (mainly DEQ in particular with civil, track and rolling stock team)
Coordinating and participating to POW, OCS, DEQ procurement, factory testing and delivery to site with OCS LECCO team, POW suppliers and lead buyers
Ensuring correct procurement of materials, construction plant and the resources according to the programme
Ensuring that proper material storages are provided on site for POW, OCS & DEQ equipment
Assisting Alstom’s QA/QC Manager with the preparation of quality-related project documents and initiate performance improvements on POW, OCS and DEQ activities
Coordinating and inspecting provisions by civil and track entity for POW, OCS & DEQ installation (in TPS, online and in depot) if required
Representing Infrastructure at Internal coordination meetings when required
Carrying out the necessary actions so that design and procurement is completed in time and in budget in a safely manner

Key attributes

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

Approximately three years’ experience in Engineering, Coordination or Project functions
Knowledge of urban & industrial railway (FAT, T&C, rail system maintenance & warranty)  environment is desirable
At least five years’ experience in Engineering
Experience handling Civil works interface issues (equipment embedding & connections)
Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products
