Our client is one of Australia’s leading national firms and attracts a wide range of work in the environment and planning sphere. The team has outstanding experience acting for developers, business owners, local government authorities, state government, energy providers, mining companies and land owners. They have great experience both in planning tribunals and appeals, as well as providing advice on environmental issues.

The role
Our client is seeking a lawyer to join their Planning & Environment team in their Sydney office. You will be working with one of the most experienced partners in the field on a range of matters, including advising clients in relation to development consents including major projects, environmental issues including contamination, land valuation and compensation matters, prosecutions, voluntary planning agreements and general planning advice. You will also be acting for Local Government Authorities.

You will have between 3 and 7 years post admission experience gained from a highly reputable planning and environment team. It is crucial that you have both planning and environment experience, as this is a very broad role. This is an exciting role for a planning and environment lawyer to learn from a wonderful partner, but also have autonomy and client and matter responsibility.

Excellent technical skills are a must, but you will also have strong client facing and communication skills.
