Clinic Team Leader

(Various locations – Rockhampton, North Rockhampton

and Mount Morgan)

Bidgerdii Community Health Service has three Primary Health Care Clinics, located in Rockhampton, North Rockhampton and Mt Morgan, together with a Children and Family Centre, Mobile Outreach clinic, and several program areas, all of which integrate into the primary health care setting.

An enthusiastic, results oriented individual is required at each clinic location to;

Lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective screening, service delivery and administration practices are delivered in accordance with the approved Model of Care

Work with the Practice Manager to coordinate provision to the Clinic of region wide service programs and visiting Allied Health and Specialist Services

Provide direct specialist community and primary health care services.

Key Duties include:

Lead a professional team that provides highest standard of client care and ensure all staff undergo appropriate service orientation and specific job-role induction and training

Ensure effective Case Management services and client recall practices and seamless client service/ internal case management and referral protocols

Work in partnership, liaise with and consult with key stakeholder private sector organisations, Government departments, community groups and suppliers, for maximum coordination between stakeholders

Provide day to day health service activities to the designated communities within the context of Primary Health Care in a professional, confidential and culturally safe manner

Undertake Indigenous health assessments, GPMP’s and TCA’s

Ensure maintenance of clinical equipment and supplies

Maximise Medicare billings/claims through effective and timely Clinic and Reception processes

Maintain accurate client records, including the collection and collation of statistical information in order to forecast demand for services and allocation of budgets

Provide accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to satisfy funding bodies and internal reporting processes

Key Requirements include:

Qualified RN, EEN or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker Practitioner, with a minimum of 5 years work experience, preferably in a primary health care setting

Demonstrated clinical management experience, in particular the ability to implement and support a medical/primary health care team and effectively plan, and coordinate own and teams workload to achieve results.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Sound knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and its application in the health service, including understanding of the Closing the Gap programs and targets

Working knowledge of health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a strong commitment to improving health outcomes

Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Current C Class Driver’s Licence (Qld) – essential

Current Blue Card (working with children and young people), or willingness to obtain

Satisfactory Police Check – no Serious/Criminal/Court Record

Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
