Program Counsellor – Raise Foundation – Gosford

Raise Foundation improves the lives of young people in our community, and we put into practise the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. Raise Foundation provides school and community based mentoring programs and personal development workshops for young people who are facing profound challenges in their lives, including mental health, substance misuse and sexual health issues.

One of the mentoring programs Raise conducts is for young girls who are pregnant and parenting called Bump. Raise is currently expanding this program and is looking for qualified professionals in the area of Counselling, Social Work or other related fields to join our team and be responsible for managing the Bump program on a part time basis as a Consultant.

The Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Bump mentoring program by recruiting, training and managing the group of mentors including their ongoing supervision, case managing the group of young mums, liaising with community partners, facilitating and presenting monthly personal development workshops for the group of mentors and mentees, arranging catering, babysitters and guest speakers, and managing the successful outcomes of the program.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Bump Mentoring Program and managing its successful outcomes.

As a Program Counsellor you will work 5 hours per week, for 40 weeks, in school term time.

We have a position available in Gosford, New South Wales.

This is an excellent position for someone who wishes to work on a part time basis while managing commitments in other areas of your life.

Essential Criteria:

Social Work, Psychology, Counselling qualifications or equivalent
Cert IV in Training and Assessment qualification
Experience in providing Case Management Support and Supervision
Genuine interest in supporting and encouraging teenage mums to identify and achieve their aspirations while managing their families
An outstanding active listener
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong administration skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Experience in project management
Assertive and able to work with initiative
Strong IT skills

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with mentoring programs
Event management
