Candidate Essentials:
A passion for making a difference in student’s lives and an encouraging approach.
Reliability – we need tutors who will be committed to their students and be there for them because they are relying on you.
Reliable transport – you need to have a car to get to tutoring sessions.
Be personable and easy to get along with.
A willingness to discuss the child’s tuition with their parents.
Availability to work at least four hours per week, preferably during after school hours.
A strong command of the English language.
You must be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (valid for paid work) for yourself if successful.
You must have a valid Tax File Number and the right to work in Australia.
Maths Tutor Essentials
Should have received 80% or more in high school mathematics.
Should have recent practice with mathematics in either study or work.
English Tutor Essentials
Should have received 80% or more in high school English.
Should have completed high school in an English speaking country.
Desirable:
Previous tutoring/coaching/teaching experience.
