Central Cafe & Bar trades 7 days a week from 7 am until late evenings. Our cafe style restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily and our 11 hotel rooms cater to the ever growing Tasmanian tourism market. With a Thirsty Camel bottle shop, Gaming room and bar, we offer patrons the full experience of Tasmanian hospitality, and we pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service at every level.

Position Objectives    

To assist the Venue Manager and Assistant Manager in the efficient operation of Central Café & Bar by providing hands on and duty management tasks. To specifically work in the operations of the Food & Beverage, Gaming, Bottle shop and Accommodation departments helping to ensure each area of the business runs efficiently, effectively and that the highest standards are maintained.

You will be required to work a mix of weekends and weekdays, mornings and evenings. The duty manager is responsible for opening and closing the venue for trade when required.

 Performance Skills Standards          

Gaming Senior Writer’s Licence essential;
Responsible service of Alcohol (TAS);
Strong written and verbal communications skills. Computer literacy is required;
Knowledge of H&L POS system and RMS desireable;
Ability to understand and carry out specific written and oral direction.
Commitment to providing quality customer service and continuous   improvement in all areas of responsibility.
The efficient management of financial transactions, delegated projects and employees within the extent of authority.
Quality, accuracy of work and timeliness in completion of tasks
