Payroll Coordinator – U S Embassy Canberra – ACT

An opportunity is available to work as a Payroll Coordinator within the Regional Human Resources Office at the U.S. Embassy, Canberra.

Salary: A$71,819 p.a. + superannuation benefits

All applicants must address the selection criteria detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.Completion of two years of university or college studies in any field of study including, but not limited to Human Resources, Accounting, or Business Studies and three years of progressively responsible experience in administration, preferably involving clerical aspects of accounting, pay and allowances is required OR Higher School Certificate/High School Diploma and 5 years progressively responsible experience in administration, preferably involving clerical aspects of accounting, pay and allowances is required.

2. Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading English is required. This may be tested.

3. Basic knowledge of local labor laws, including worker’s compensation and superannuation employee entitlements is required.

4. Must have demonstrated customer service skills, including excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate well (orally and in writing) in order to deal with the many and varied payroll matters with Bangkok and Charleston and with US and LE personnel, is required.

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of programs and the ability to customize spreadsheets to RHRO needs and a demonstrated ability to independently research available guidelines and formulate accurate responses is required.
