Industrial Design Director / Asia Pacific – R Co Brand – Melbourne

Job Summary

R-Co is a specialist brand identity and design agency. We aim to create imaginative, ideas based, design solutions that inspire and motivate.

We consult to a broad range of industry sectors – including corporate, professional, government, retail, hospitality, events, sport and manufacturing. The creative emphasis is on brand identity and related outcomes, web, digital, communications (signage, environmental design, product design).

R-Co is extending its influence into China as we are developing new business activities in the region as well as assisting Chinese clients in Australia.  We are seeking a credentialed Chinese designer who can help promote our business, undertake projects and act as our Chinese representative.

Experience

Minimum 10 years in a design firm with demonstrable expertise and contacts in China/Asia.  A portfolio that shows expertise in industrial design, environmental design and graphic design.  A fluency in Mandarin is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

The Industrial Design Director role will be responsible for:

Leading design projects
Embracing the R-Co approach to creativity – ideas driven and inclusive
Working closely with the creative team to engage and foster a team approach to creative thinking and realisation
Assuming an attitude that is inspiring and motivating to all staff
Ensuring your technical computer skills are at a high level
Receiving briefs from Creative Director, Client Managers and clients
Presenting thinking and creative concepts internally and externally to Asian clients
Realising creative intent through to completion, either on your own or with others in the team, inclusive of documentation and artwork
Working within the time allocated to you by the Creative Director and Client Managers
Consistency and quality of your creative output
Maintaining an open mind at all times
Promoting relationships based on mutual respect with clients and the R-Co team
Maintaining a professional and well-presented impression at all times
