Working in partnership with some of Australia’s leading medical specialists, the hospital has developed a strong reputation in Cardiac, Orthopaedics & Spinal Care, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Cancer Care, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Colorectal and Urology.
We are seeking a full time experienced orthopaedic operating theatre nurse who possesses good leadership skills and is passionate about standards of care and customer service to lead our orthopaedic theatre team of committed nurses to ensure that good clinical outcomes occur within our busy orthopaedic theatres.
St George Private Hospital has 12 operating theatres, which following the current redevelopment project will expand to 15. Up to 4 theatres are dedicated to the speciality of orthopaedics. The Speciality Team Leader (STL) of orthopaedics plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the patient and specialist orthopaedic surgeons’ needs are met.
The STL reports to our Perioperative manager and works closely with our surgeons, supply and billings teams and orthopaedic ward staff.
Essential
Current nursing registration with AHPRA
Operating theatre Certificate and 5 years Operating Theatre in orthopaedics
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage challenging situations
Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources
Intermediate MS Office computer skills
Desired
Management certificate or working towards the same
